The Bedtime Sh'ma: A Goodnight Book

Thursday, June 21-August 12, 2007
Opening Reception Thursday, June 21 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Jewish educator Sarah Gershman and artist Kristina Swarner teamed up to create The Bedtime Sh’ma: A Good Night Book. Illustrations from this new children’s book, which is based on the liturgy of the Bedtime Sh’ma, a collection of prayers and poems that focus on themes of preparing for sleep, will be exhibited for the first time at the Ann Loeb Bronfman Gallery. As is common in literature written for children, artwork plays a vital role in telling the story. The paintings create a beautiful interpretation of the prayer that will be enjoyed by people of all ages.

The Ann Loeb Bronfman Gallery is open Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm and Fridays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is free. Also at the J The 8th Annual WASHINGTON JEWISH MUSIC FESTIVAL June 2–10, 2007
