Artoconecto Announces Jury Panel and Call For Artists!

Artoconecto presents 'A-B(o)MB' (Art Basel (of) Miami Beach), a juried show of emerging national and international artists that will be a preview for the most important international art fair in the United States. Jury Prize Winner(s), will have their work exhibited during Art Basel week in Miami. Art Basel/Miami Beach has been said to have surpassed New York's Armory Show as well as ArtChicago in importance to collectors of international contemporary and modern art.

Artoconecto, in conjunction with Bakehouse Arts Complex (BAC) http://www.bacfl.org/, will examine the impact of Art Basel Miami Beach on the art world by showing the best of cutting-edge new and emerging artists from the United States and abroad. Artists in all media are encouraged to apply. Our shows take place in a festive and unique atmosphere, and include live music and performance. This will be our first show in Miami, after over a dozen shows in Washington, DC, where Artoconecto was a National Endowment for the Arts Grantee.

Artoconecto is pleased to announce the jury panel for 'A-B(o)MB' (Art Basel (of) Miami Beach). This will be an internationally-juried show, with a jury comprised of:

Claire Breukel, Executive Director of Miami's Locust Projects http://www.locustprojects.org

Annie Wharton, internationally exhibiting LA-based artist and curator www.anniewharton.com; www.dreamlandshow.info

Washington, DC-based artist Byron Peck www.peckstudios.com

Jen Stark, exciting and nationally successful young Miami artist

************************************************

Artists from all over the world will be asked to submit their work, and the jury will select that work which best exemplifies the cutting edge of emerging art, to be exhibited in this pre-Basel showcase.

The artist or artists who are selected for jury prizes, will have their work shown during Art Basel week, later in December. Being a part of Miami's burgeoning art scene, and having the chance to be promoted during Art Basel, is a huge opportunity for any artist who participates.

Deadline for submissions is September 5, 2008, with the opening reception to be held on October 11, 2008. To enter the guidelines please visit http://www.artoconecto.org.
