Eugene Leake, a Maryland landscape artist and visionary leader in arts higher education. He was ispired by the landscape painting of French Barbizon master, Jean-François Millet and George Inness landscape paintings. Leake's expressive compositions reflected his awareness of the variety and fleeting aspects of nature.
