Glittering Machines is a solo exhibition of sculpture by Providence-based artist Paul Myoda. This is Myoda’s first exhibition at Project 4.1353 U Street NW, 3rd floor, Washington, DC 20009
Glittering Machines are modular, kinetic, interactive, sonic and illuminating sculptures investigating the human relationship with the digital world. Refuting the restrictions and disembodiment of the interfaces on our everyday electronic devices, Myoda explores ways in which computers can break from the limitations of the screen and interact with the physicality of the human body. By emulating natural behaviors, these works blur the distinction between the animate and inanimate realms.
