FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON DC ARTISTS, ANNE MARCHAND, JODI WALSH AND TIM VERMEULEN
TO SHOW AT AFFORDABLE ART FAIR NEW YORK 2013

NEW YORK CITY, (SEPT. 23, 2013)— Affordable Art Fair New York will showcase the exciting artwork of Anne Marchand, Jodi Walsh, and Tim Vermeulen from October 3-6, 2013 at the Tunnel in Chelsea.

Anne Marchand received an M.F.A. from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. Anne’s award winning paintings convey universal rhythms in nature and the cosmos. She explores relationships in color, mark making, body movement and poetry on canvas to provoke a deeper inquiry into the origins of humanity. Anne is a full-time painter living in Washington, DC. She is represented by Porter Contemporary in New York and Green Chalk Contemporary in Monterey, CA. www.annemarchand.com

Jodi Walsh left her native country of Canada in1967 for the Far East and Europe, a move that would influence her life and work forever. She moved to the United States in 1978 and while art has always been a part of her life she first began to emerge as a serious artist in 1995. Although Jodi has received private training, she has never studied painting or ceramics at an academic institution. This has allowed Jodi the independence and freedom to develop her unique style. Layering clay on the original textured surfaces has taken her work to a new level of expression. Capturing the colours and textures she experienced while living in Taiwan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Africa and Europe is a joy to her and she hopes to others. www.jodiart.com

Tim Vermeulen was born in Paterson, NJ. He received a B.A. from Calvin College (1982) and an M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from The University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana (1986). His paintings are attempts to articulate in visual form, through symbolic and allegorical stories, a chaotic web of emotions and ideas that is at once deeply personal and about our universal condition. Tim was an art professor for 17 years, first at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL, and then at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD. He is currently a full-time painter living in Maryland and he is represented by Packer Schopf Gallery in Chicago, IL. www.timothyvermeulen.com
