The 5th season of the lunch time weekday market in Crystal City launches May 3 under a new name. SPARKET - A Creative Market is now the Crystal City Crafts Market. The market still operates on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. along Crystal Drive.
There will be an array of exhibitors offering arts, crafts, imports, and more. "added to the mix is additional seating, lawn games and colorful murals surrounding the market area," said Michael Berman, "We also still co-locate with a food truck event, which will share the site. And that adds synergy with the lunch crowd." The trucks will be parked in the lot adjacent to 20th Street. And the market will set up on the wide shaded sidewalk stretching toward 18th Street. As an additional draw, live-music will be part of the programming mix.
The market is a collaborative effort with the Crystal City BID. Crystal City, Arlington's largest downtown, and will run every Thursday through June 28.
