The Contemporary Museum will welcome renowned artist Fred Wilson back to Baltimore at its annual benefit gala on Friday, May 14, 2010. “An Intimate Evening with Fred Wilson” will celebrate the museum’s 20th anniversary of bringing new art and new ideas to Baltimore; Wilson created one of the museum’s most prominent exhibitions, Mining the Museum, in 1992.
“An Intimate Evening with Fred Wilson” will begin at 6:45 p.m. with cocktails and dinner at the Maryland Historical Society. Wilson will provide gala guests with an illustrated survey of his works and projects.
At 10 p.m. guests will gather for the After Glow party at the Contemporary Museum for after dinner drinks and a special preview of Bearing Witness: Work By Bradley McCallum & Jacqueline Tarry. This installation is part of the museum’s Project 20 series of anniversary exhibitions.
Tickets are $300 for Contemporary Museum members and $350 for non-members. Patron tickets, which include a pre-event champagne toast with Wilson, are $500.
