Female Shorts: Film & Video Showcase celebrates cinematic works of women in the arts. This festival is a collaboration between the Torpedo Factory's Target Gallery and The Art League, and is dedicated and focused to seeking out and promoting cinema created by and for women. The showcase is part of the Virginia Commission for the Arts 2010 state-wide celebration, Minds Wide Open, which celebrates women in the arts.
Sydney-Chanele Dawkins, selected 22 films to be a part of the juried showcase. The gallery will be showing these films continuously throughout the days of the event, June 3-6.

MINDS WIDE OPEN: Virginia Celebrates Women in the Arts
is the first statewide celebration of its kind. Between March and June of 2010, thousands of special events will occur to honor contributions by women to arts and culture.
