Informed Design Opens at Long View Gallery

The record heat in DC didn't keep art lovers away last night as 600 people rsvp for the opening of Informed Design at Long View Gallery. The installations by architects Ernesto Santalla & David Jameson established a gallery within a gallery effect and handsomely defined a chic edgy look for new art collectors.
"Informed Design" expounds on the role of art objects in the context of interior design and architecture. Rather than neglecting the gallery space as merely a support to the works of art that hang in it, "Informed Design" demonstrates how artworks can shape an interior or interact with space offering the viewer a heightened aesthetic experience.

Artists: Joan Konkel, Anne Marchand, Tory Cowles, Steve Griffin, Patricia Burns, Wanda Wainsten, Susan Finsen wIth architectural installations by Ernesto M. Santalla and David Jameson featuring artwork by: Barbara Joseph Liotta, Ralph Turturro, Steve Cushner, Mary Early, James Huckenphaler and Jackie Hoysted. The exhibition runs through August 1, 2010.
