Sculpture 1275: Artemis Herber is the fifteenth in a series of ongoing exhibitions presented by the Washington Sculptors Group (WSG) in partnership with Axent Realty. The 2011 Sculpture 1275 exhibition series was curated by Washington artist Lou Stovall.

By mastering the art of "scoring," German-born artist Artemis Herber has devised a way to manipulate her corrugated muse in any direction she desires. Through the process of folding and bending, cardboard is transformed and takes on a delicate body language.

"By creating specific shapes with an infinite number of linear, structural cuts, " says Ms. Herber, "I transform mundane cardboard into pliable, movable sculptures." She reduces cardboard to a minimalist expression in color, form and material.  In her recent work repetition and grouping are often used to "achieve ever-changing statements, creating poetry with the results."
