Project 4 presents a solo exhibition featuring recent work by German photographer, Georg Kuettinger. This will be Kuettinger’s first solo exhibition in the United States.
Georg Kuettinger’s large-scale photographs are reflections on the tradition of landscape photography. At first glance, the photographs appear to be a direct portrayal of reality; upon further inspection, atypical topography and unnatural perspectives reveal their customized construction. Accumulating several individual shots of one location, Kuettinger then reunites them to create a new image. Various angles and moments in time are meticulously layered, remixed, and compressed into an imagined possibility of that place.
