PDSS: Navigating Relationships - Art Consultants and Architects. February 16, 2012, 7pm

Navigating Relationships:  Art Consultants and Architects
Thursday, February 16th @ 7:00pm
Artists can have similarly symbiotic relationships with Art Consultants and Architects as they do with galleries and dealers.  An artwork can be the impulse for architects to create designs.  Additionally, an "art program," suite or collection can be the finishing touch on a project for clients.  Architects and Art Consultants play integral roles in the careers of emerging artists, as these professionals can help artists foster relationships and build connections with new industries and corporate networks.

Thursday, February 16th, with Margaret Heiner of Heiner Contemporary, and Greg Kearley of InScape Studio and Project 4 Gallery explore:

What is the scope of the role that architects and art consultants play in the careers of emerging artists?

Where can artists find art consultants?

How can artists begin to build relationships with architects and consultants?

What are the different needs and criteria that consultants and architects have in regards selecting art?

What do architects and consultants expect from artists, and what can artists expect from them?

Following brief overviews from the two speakers, the evening will run as an open forum with questions from the audience.
