What Remains: The American Landscape
Oil Paintings of America's Vanishing Treasures by Bradley StevensBRADLEY STEVENS AT ZENITH GALLERY
MAY 4 - JUNE 24, 2007
Opening Receptions:
Friday, May 4, 6- 9 pm
Sunday, May 6, 1- 4 pm
Featuring artist's talk at 2 pm
Bradley Stevens' landscape paintings reflect his deep appreciation and awe of America's natural environment, particularly wilderness areas. He says nature's beauty humbles and sustains him, reminding him just how good it is to be alive.
"What Remains: The American Landscape" draws from the spirit of famed artist Thomas Moran, whose western wilderness images encouraged the U.S. Congress and the American people to preserve Americas vanishing treasures. Especially in light of recent controversy over environmental issues such as Global warming, Stevens hopes his collection of landscape paintings will similarly incite action to protect and preserve America's vanishing treasures.

“Over the past 30 years I have literally seen thousands of landscape paintings. Every once in awhile an artist rises above all others to a new level and creates a body of work that is truly profound. Bradley Stevens has captured our treasured American landscape with breath taking images that will stay with you forever.“ Margery E. Goldberg, Zenith Gallery Director
Every painting in this exhibit is born from personal experience and an emotional connection I have with a particular place. I hope that my interpretation of the varied and dramatic beauty of the American landscape will heighten awareness and incite action to preserve our threatened treasure. Bradley Stevens
