IA&A November 15th Members' Critique / Call to Members

Calling all members - submit entries for Members' Critique, November 15th

DATE: November 15th and every third Monday of the month thereafter
TIME: 6pm - 8pm
ADMISSION: Free to members

IA&A is accepting entries for their upcoming November 15th Members' Critique. We will select a maximum of ten member artists to showcase 1-2 pieces of artwork each. Although it is free to enter, this opportunity is on a first come first serve basis so please submit your entry as soon as possible. This is an open event, so even if you are not participating, please feel free to come along and join in the discussion.

This month respected DC artist Carol Goldberg and International Arts and Artists President David Furchgott will both be critics. Artists are encouraged to share their thoughts on their personal style, influences, media, and past shows. This is a great opportunity to identify with other artists and establish lasting friendships. Your connections with each other and understanding of one another's work will only serve to strengthen DC's art community.

To enter email the Internal Events Associate, Danielle Docherty @ danielled at artsandartists.org and include details of the size of the work(s) you intend to display.

Guidelines:
Artists will be able to display a piece of their work for constructive criticism and group discussion. Theses critiques are fundamentally designed to provide helpful feedback to artists. They ought not only to tease out the formal strengths and weaknesses of a piece, but also any perceptible meanings the piece seems to communicate. Criticisms must therefore reach beyond binary value judgments ("I like the piece" or "I don't like the piece") and into the realm of more astute intellectual observation and advice.
If there are any questions or concerns, please contact IA&A at 202-338-0680 or membership@artsandartists.org.
