Pettit creates a new aesthetic out of commonplace, disparate parts with evident influence from the abstract expressionists, Klimt and Modigliani. Intricate mosaic combined with asymmetrical forms defines her style. The three-dimensional nature of her work means dramatic changes come as the light shifts, shadows emerge and mirror
creates shifting shapes. The art expresses emotion in unexpected ways.
