American University Museum's next round of shows

ECO presents the work of twenty Latin American and European photographic collectives. The exhibit displays the artists’ perspectives on the environment through their work in photo journalism. Each piece brings awareness to viewers while interpreting the environmental concerns of each photographic collective.

Registro 02. Mirar por segunda vez (Record 02. A Second Glance)
Registro 02 features works from six prominent Mexican artists. The exhibit showcases their diverse works while simultaneously leading the viewer to contemplate the experience one gets when viewing contemporary art. The exhibit is being sponsored by the Mexican Embassy, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Monterrey, and the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington, DC.

Sam Gilliam: Close to Trees
Sam Gilliam: Close to Trees features the works of one of America’s most prominent Color Field painters and Lyrical Abstractionist artists, Sam Gilliam. Sam Gilliam’s technique of taking paintings off of the canvas gives his pieces a sculptural quality that transforms a space.
