International Arts and Artists' Juried Members' Show

International Arts and Artists' Hillyer Art Space is currently accepting submittals for its Juried Member's Show Constructing Differences, Uncovering Connections, to be curated by Maria Barbosa*, until February 12, 2010 (not a postmark deadline) for the week-long show from February 22nd to February 27th.  There will be a closing reception on Saturday, February 27th!

*Maria Barbosa is a mixed media artist interested in the riddles of personal interactions. Her work explores the processes of acculturation, globalization and displacement. Through her work, she addresses the conflict between the need for individuality and the need to conform to an established social order.

Requirements: 
o Artists must be members of International Arts & Artists.
o Submissions may address, but are not limited to, any of the following topics:
     o The common humanity and the uniqueness of individual artwork
     o Globalization and joined destinies
     o The global space and national places
     o International vs. Transnational
     o The paradox between globalization and rigid borders
o All media will be considered.
o All work must be less than $500.00.
o $20 submission fee.

Submissions must include the following materials:
o An email to membership at artsandartists.org containing TWO digital images per submission as a high resolution 300 dpi JPEG no larger than 1 MB (do not use GIFs, TIFFs or other formats). Any additional images (over the limit of 2), or any images that do not conform to the guidelines outlined will not be accepted. You may also submit less than 2 images.
o File Labeling - Files must be titled with a number indicating the viewing order, followed by the artist's last name. The numbers must correspond to the accompanying Image List. Use "0" (zero) in front of single digit numbers. Do not use more than 30 characters, and use only letters, numbers, and underscores. Example: 01_Jones; 02_Jones. If using Mac OS 8 or 9, include a ".jpg" extension at the end of each image title. Example: 01_Jones.jpg.
o A complete checklist of works containing the title, year, medium, and dimension of each work.
o Complete artist resume or CV.
