art works by Daniel Stuelpnagel

OPENING MAY 1, 2008

An exhibition featuring maps by cartographer Ferdinand von Stuelpnagel and new paintings by artist Daniel Stuelpnagel will open at An Die Musik Gallery on May 1, 2008, in conjunction with the Baltimore Festival Of Maps.

This exhibition, curated by and including the map-related works of artist Daniel Stuelpnagel, displays original paintings as well as antique map prints originally drafted by the 19th-century German cartographer Ferdinand von Stuelpnagel(1786 - 1865), a distant relative of the present-day artist.

The exhibition at An Die Musik, entitled EXPLORATORY SEARCHERY, will run from May 1 through May 25, 2008, one of many events in a three-month series sponsored by the Walters Art Gallery Museum. The festival’s web site is www.baltimorefestivalofmaps.com, involving more than 20 area cultural organizations, and running from March 16 through June 8, 2008.

An Die Musik, located at 409 North Charles Street in Baltimore, is a unique venue featuring six hundred square feet of gallery space, a music store with a diverse selection of classical and jazz recordings, and a performance space hosting musical events. Concert schedule and additional information is available at www.andiemusiklive.com
