-Read Magazines like Art News, Auction Catalogs (i.e. Swann Catalog).
-Go to Open Studios (a good way to venture into artists studios on the first visit).
-Visit Museums (a good way to train the eye on art).
-Topic or Interest approach to collecting (start collecting art that focuses on a topic or interest of yours).
