Art Review: Paul Richard on 'Heaven on Earth' at the National Gallery of Art - washingtonpost.com

Art Review: Paul Richard on 'Heaven on Earth' at the National Gallery of Art - washingtonpost.com: "Tear a page out of a book and what do you get? Perhaps a pang of guilt. Otherwise not much. Just a piece of trash....But the 52 pages from old vandalized books in "Heaven on Earth: Manuscript Illuminations From the National Gallery of Art" are the opposite of trash."

"Heaven on Earth: Manuscript Illuminations From the National Gallery of Art will remain on view in the East Building, Fourth Street and Constitution Avenue NW, through Aug. 2. The show is supported by a grant from the Thaw Charitable Trust. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. For information call 202-737-4215. Admission is free."
