Gallery Talk with Tim Campbell
Sun, Nov 6 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm

"My paintings are made in relation to pre-existing structures. Each work begins with a form of found information such as a common text or image. These sources are then gradually changed through processes such as inversion, cropping, layering, repetition or erasure. I explore how subtle yet direct changes in form, context, or mode of viewing can alter our understanding of these sources, and I am interested in how new or surprising ideas can emerge from forms that were once familiar or ordinary.  By altering these pre-existing sources, I intend to displace them so as to create a potential opening for viewers."  -Tim Campbell
