Seeking Veterans & Civilians for historic photo by the Metabolic Studio’s Optics Team and their Liminal Camera



This photograph is inspired by and pays homage to the 
Bonus Army’s Encampment on the Mall of World War One veterans 
and their supporters in Washington DC in 1932.

Please arrive by 10am on the Mall on 3rd street between Jefferson and Madison Avenues, across from the Capitol building. Giant flag raising and photograph to take place at 11am sharp. Bring a picnic.

This photograph will be on view at the Hirshhorn Museum on 11/12/11 and 11/13/11.

DETAILS ABOUT THE PHOTOSHOOT and EVENT FOR 11/11/11:
Artists and activists believe in the power of creativity to incite transformation. Metabolic Studio has constructed a camera that has traversed the USA to build photos of our country in this time of radical need.

Friday 11.11.11 at 11am - Veterans Day on the National Mall
  • potluck picnic, giant flag raising, and picture taking. Arrive by 10am.

Bring a picnic and listen to rendition of the Yes We Can Can, Preserving a Home for Veterans, performed by special guests from the VA of West Los Angeles.

Place: The National Mall, Washington D.C., Third Street, between Madison & Jefferson Avenues.
Following the photoshoot on Saturday & Sunday 11.12.11 and 11.13.11 the photograph will be on view along with a video screening and a selection of images from the Liminal Camera Tour, at the Hirshhorn Museum.
