"Public Artists" Exhibition

6:00-8:00 opening reception

The Fine Arts Gallery of George Mason University
opens "Public Artists,"an exhibition examining the
ideas behind some of the recent public commissions
undertaken by such contemporary local artists as
sulptor Wendy M. Ross and muralist G. Byron Peck.
The opening reception will be preceded by "Why
Public Art?," a panel discussion and slide lecture
from 4:00-6:00 featuring the six artists, examples
of whose work will remain on view through March 23.

Directions to George Mason University.

Take Braddock Road, either from 123 or from 495.
Enter GMU via Roanoke Lane.
Bear to the right as you merge with Patriot Circle.
Turn left onto Mason Drive.
Turn right into the Visitor Parking Deck just past the Center for the Arts. Exit the Parking Deck on the third level; the Johnson Center is ahead and to the right.
