Call to Artists: The ZIP Code Show

So, what about space?

The ZIP Code Show is about artists and their relationships with their surroundings. This summer offering – Aug 29 though Sept 5, 2009 — from artdc.org and Art Outlet is being presented in partnership with Halstead Arlington and the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization.

In The ZIP Code Show, artists use ZIP codes—a system of delimited packets of landscape devised by the U.S. Post Office in 1963 to respond to “the modern technology imperative” and make our lives better and more efficient—to facilitate personal dialogues between themselves and the physical, biological, and cultural features of the earth.

Registration is FREE and runs through July 31.

Location: The ZIP Code Show is located at Halstead Arlington, 1028 South Walter Reed Drive in Arlington, VA 22204

Logistics:
Brick walls with wodden braces; concrete floors and columns; drywalls; 2 empty retail stores on street level

Size:
18 ft tall ceilings; square footage is 1225 sqf (smaller unit) and 1490 sqf (larger unit)
