"Far and Near Horizons" World Tour of Contemporary Landscape Artists

When I was in New York City for ArtExpo this winter, I met landscape painter, Linda Richichi and we hit it off really well. Since the ArtExpo, Linda has organized a World Tour Exhibition of Contemporary Landscape Artists. The tour began yesterday on June 2nd with an exhibition at the Karpeles Museum in downtown Newburgh, NY. The featured artists are Linda Richichi along with J. Baldini, the founder of the International Plein Air Painters, and the founder of the Landscape Artists International, Karl E. Leitzel. Showcased are the Signature Members of IPAP and the Charter Members of the LAI who are talented painters from around the US, Canada, the UK, Brazil and the Czech Republic.

The US artists, including Hawaii, are Charles Schaeffer from St. Augustine, FL, L. Diane Johnson from NC, Kathryn McMahon from CO, Doug Martin from CO, Pierre Bouret from Hawaii, Barbara Perrotti from FL, Brenda Hofreiter from FL, Linda Richichi from NY and Karl Leitzel from PA. From Canada there are three artists, our founder of IPAP, J. Baldini, Michael Chesley Johnson, and Dan Gray of British Columbia. Margaret Evans is from the UK and Vitali Komarov is from the Czech Republic. Last but not least is Sandra Nunes from Brazil. In 2008 juried members from both groups willbe included. The next stop is St. Augustine Gallery in St. Augustine, Fl. in Sept. This exhibit runs through July 30th.The City of Newburgh Mayor Nick Valentine kicked off the program with a ribbon cutting in Newburgh, NY, one of the cities along the Hudson River where the original American Landscape Artists painted from the Hudson River School.
