Newseum Announces April 11 Grand Opening

Free Admission on Opening Day

The Newseum, the world's most interactive museum, will open its new $450 million, seven-level museum on historic Pennsylvania Avenue in the nation's capital on Friday, April 11. In its 14 major galleries, 15 theaters, two broadcast studios and a 4-D time-travel experience, the new Newseum blends five centuries of news history with up-to-the-second technology and innovation.

The Grand Opening will include free admission for the public on April 11 and a live broadcast of a portion of ABC's "Good Morning America" from the Newseum. Additional opening weekend events are being planned and will be announced over the next few weeks right here at

Admission to the Newseum on opening day — April 11, 2008 — will be free. No tickets required. Visitors will be admitted to the Newseum on a first-come, first-served basis.
