Take Me To The River PROJECT / The Poetics of Water

October 31, 2011 – Sunday, January 15, 2012
Reception Thursday, November 10, 6-8 PM, at the University of Maryland University College.

Join the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) community and the Take Me to the River (TMTTR) international artist collective for The Poetics of Water, an exhibition of water-themed art and the poetry that inspired it.

TMTTR members teamed up with local arts groups Arts for the Aging and Life Pieces to Masterpieces for two poetry workshops based on the theme of water. The end result was an intertwining of art and poetry created by writers and artists from around the world, including Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Nigeria, France, Afghanistan, Poland, Pakistan, and the United States.

THE Take Me To The River PROJECT, an international artists' collective of which Richard Dana is project director, will be exhibiting work involving 18 artists from 13 different countries, two noted Washington poets, and a community outreach project.
