Kyan Bishop's sculpture and installation work is often built by creating accumulations of simple, yet expressive forms that seek to provide an enriched understanding of the human experience. While at times highly referential in nature, Bishop views her work as an intimate exploration of space and time as well as a reflection upon our rapidly changing landscape.

The images in the Southern Aperture exhibtion are shot with a Holga camera, darkroom printed, then toned with an antique process called Berg printing to give them the earth colors that embody both the beauty and grittiness of the real South.

Georgetown: Over 200 Years of Style. The antiques and fine arts event features over 40 premier dealers from the U.S. and Europe and draws over 6,000 attendees. A different event will be held each day of the festival, including an opening night party, lecture and buffet luncheon, jazz night, appraisals, and a tasting of dishes from Georgetown restaurants during the final show date.

"Celebrate Gay Marriage" January show at the Foundry Gallery

I am most comfortable when I’m tearing, cutting and pasting paper onto paper. Paper also has a 3-dimensional quality that I’m constantly exploring. Glossy black ink-saturated magazine paper sings. The color, plainness and usefulness of brown paper give it an earthy quality.

Bizarre yet scientifically accurate, 16 examples of the fantastic composite heads painted by Giuseppe Arcimboldo are exhibited together for the first time in the United States.
