Anna Davis and Cultural Parallels at Hillyer Art Space

May 2 - May 30, 2008
Opening Reception: Friday, May 2nd, 2008, 6pm to 8pm

Anna Davis' new works feature a selection of collage-like paintings that demonstrate her ability to confront the power of a woman's being while exposing her vulnerabilities. These raw images offer insight into the female mind and experience both personal and public, and address them in a very direct way. Davis' work is provocative, but with a purpose.

Cultural Parallels
features a selection of Sardelic's most recent drawings and paintings that exemplify his tremendous ability to compose a two-dimensional piece of art full of life and energy. This joint exhibition with the Embassy of Croatia highlights Sardelic's interest in demonstrating the interplay between his Croatian roots and ancient cultures of South America such as the Mayans and Incans. The promotion of global, cross cultural exchange is evident in his work which creates dialogue between unique sweeping organic forms and bold, vibrant colors
