Exhibition: May 7 – 30 2009
Opening Reception on Thursday, May 7, 2009

Volvox (detail) 2001 Coiled/welded steel 60” diameter Wendy Ross
A SELECTION OF STUDIO WORKS CREATED FROM 1998-2009

The passage of time is an accident, having no connection with the change in configuration of solid matter in space…..the here and now contains in essence a myriad of there and thens….”(From Mae-Wan Ho’s essay: The New Age of the Organism )

The show’s title: BACK & FORTH, reflects a dynamic view of reality. The exhibition features a selection of studio works created over the last decade and includes studies, maquettes, and small scale steel structures. The artist refers to these works as constructs that distill and capture energy in the process of expanding and contracting.

Carla Hanzal, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Mint Museum wrote: Wendy Ross’ large-scale geometric abstractions are based on the underlying physical structures and natural phenomena found in the animate world.
